“Oppenheimer” Wins Big at 5th North Dakota Film Society Awards

“Oppenheimer” won big at the 5th annual North Dakota Film Society Awards. Christopher Nolan’s blockbuster masterpiece earned 9 awards, including those for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor for Cillian Murphy. Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie” followed with 4 wins. Palme d’Or winner “Anatomy of a Fall” was a double winner, earning the prize for Best International Feature and the award for Best Screenplay.

“Oppenheimer” joins previous NDFS Awards Best Picture winners “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” “Nomadland,” “The Power of the Dog” and “Aftersun.”

The annual NDFS Awards are voted on by members of the North Dakota Film Society. The group is composed of film journalists, educators, exhibitors and filmmakers based in North Dakota.
